Tijaniyya Khalifa endorses Sanwo-Olu for re-election as Lagos Governor
The Grand Khalifa of Tijaniyya in Lagos State, Sheikh Aminullah Adedoyin Akoshile has urged Muslims in the State to re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.
Khalifa Akoshile spoke at the weekend when he led a delegation of Tijaniyya leaders in Lagos State on a solidarity visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Babafemi Hamzat.
He said the performance scorecard of the Sanwo-Olu administration is replete with impressive list of remarkable projects across all sectors of the economy.
Sheikh Akoshile appealed to all Muslims and well-meaning people in Lagos to vote Sanwo-Olu because the Governor deserves a second term so as to consolidate his developmental programmes.
While congratulating Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his divine victory as President-elect, Khalifa Akoshile noted that the re-election of Governor Sanwo-Olu in Lagos will complement the Presidency of Asiwaju and place Lagos at the mainstream of national politics.
He commended the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu for organising a generally free and fair election which Nigerians and foreign observers have adjudged to be excellent barring a few operational glitches.
He therefore urged the electoral umpire and security agencies to forestall a repeat of the isolated cases of violence and malpractices as witnessed in South East Nigeria.
