Environmental education key to sustain recycling – Experts
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

There are a couple of things we can do to help the environment around us. These things may seem small but they mean a lot in preserving the environment and making our planet livable.

From cutting down on single use items to conserving energy and recycling, these actions help mitigate the effects of climate change on our planet.

Here are things we can start doing today:

Reuse drinking bottles or cups

Use only 1 or 2 reusable cups and don’t buy or use disposable cup because every time you throw a cup away, you create waste. Cutting down on the number of cups you throw away is a great way to conserve resources. Na matter what you drink with it, just wash it and reuse it.

Use Smart Appliances and smart power strips

Using energy efficient appliances that have the ability to shift into a smart energy saving mode when needed is a good way to conserve energy because excessive consumption of energy is expensive and harmful to our environment.

Smart power strips are the best eco-friendly option for plugging in electronics to save energy when electronics are not in use.

You can also consider a smart thermostat, smart HVAC, and other smart, wi-fi enabled appliances that help you conserve energy in the home.

Recycle

This is very important. We must have separate recycle bins as much as available. Visiting a local recycling center near you can help you see how many different categories of goods you can recycle, so that you can plan bins for them.

Conserve Water

Save water by running faucets only when you really use water. Install low flow toilets and faucets where you can in your residence. Consider a smart irrigation system for your garden.

Turn Out the Lights/ Use Eco-friendly Lights

Always Use energy efficient LED lights. Turn off lights when not needed. Once a month, light candles and use flashlights while you save money and energy. Power generators are bad for the environment.

Where you have stable electricity, you can try controlled brownout where you pretend that the electricity has gone out and you must make do with flashlights.

Keep reusable shopping bags

Make sure to take your own shopping bags when you go to buy groceries to reduce the number of plastic bags that end up in our landfills and oceans.

Grow a Garden

The planet likes it when you grow things. It helps filter out bad air and is a great sustainable practice.

Go solar

Try to checkout the clean energy/ renewable power option available and make efforts to start using them to help the environment.

The truth is, we must all make effort to preserve our environment and make our planet safe. The whole talks about Climate change results from our human actions and we are the ones to reverse it as well.
