NAF commissions water project in Edo community

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commissioned a water project in Ohe Community, Irrua, Esan Central LGA of Edo State, as part of its Special Intervention/Quick Impact Projects (QIPs), earning commendation from Governor Monday Okpebholo for its contribution to community development.
The project, inaugurated by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, features an industrial borehole and a 35,000-litre overhead tank aimed at improving access to clean water for residents.
The CAS was represented at the event by the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Air Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola.
Governor Okpebholo, represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Gani Audu, praised the NAF for extending its impact beyond defence, describing the initiative as evidence of the Service’s commitment to citizens’ welfare.
Air Marshal Abubakar reaffirmed the NAF’s dedication to strengthening civil-military relations through developmental efforts that promote trust and peace.
He noted that the upgrade of the Directorate of Civil-Military Relations to a full Branch reflects the evolving humanitarian role of the force.
The project was coordinated by Air Vice Marshal Pius Oguega Oahimire, an indigene of Ohe Community, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to give back to his hometown, emphasizing the importance of clean water to health and development. He urged residents to maintain the facility for future use.
