Monarch hails rangers over Gashaka-Gumti National Park security

Park rangers patrolling the Gashaka-Gumti National Park in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State have received royal praises for doing a good work.
A first-class chief in the state, Lamdo Gashaka, Alhaji Zubairu Hammangabdo, showered the praises on the rangers, acknowledging that security has been restored and all other criminal activities have been reduced to the barest minimum across the park and his entire domain.
Speaking to newsmen in his palace at Serti, the headquarters of the local government area, the monarch acknowledged that the sustained patrol by the rangers has also reduced activities of illegal miners,loggers and poachers in the National park and its surrounding communities.
Alhaji Hammabgabdo added that as a result of the sustained forest patrol, kidnappings, cattle rustling and banditry has also reduced, enabling people to go about their farming and other economic activities without fear.
He commended the Africa Nature Investors (ANI) Foundation for providing technical support to Gashaka-Gumti National park and also for training the Rangers which enabled them to effectively patrol of the park and surrounding communities.
The monarch said activities of poachers have reduced drastically and the wildlife are now feel safer, adding that the glory of the park noted of its wildlife population has been restored.
“We are happy with ANI Foundation for providing technical support to Gashaka Gumti National Park and for training the Rangers which had improved their capability because of the sustained patrol in the park and surrounding communities farmers can now go to their farms and work with fear,” he said.
