The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, has expressed condolences to the government and people of Adamawa State following a recent flood that killed 29 people, submerged farmlands, and destroyed homes.
Maiha, who is from Adamawa, personally delivered a condolence letter on behalf of his ministry and commended the state government’s proactive response to the disaster.
During his visit, the minister presented relief materials to victims, describing the gesture as one of solidarity and compassion.
He called on all levels of government to find lasting solutions to the recurrent flooding that affects the region annually, assuring the ministry’s support during this difficult period.
“Your Excellency, we pray to the Almighty to repose the souls of the departed, heal the injured, and restore the property and livelihoods of those affected,” Maiha said.
Adamawa Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, thanked the minister for his support and described the victims as family members.
She praised the resilience of the people amid the devastation and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ongoing relief efforts and humanitarian intervention to ease the suffering caused by the floods.
