The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), in collaboration with the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps, has sealed 13 establishments across the state for violating environmental regulations.

The enforcement exercise, carried out on Monday followed reports of non-compliance with Lagos State air and noise pollution laws, according to a statement posted by the agency on X.

LASEPA said the operation was conducted on the directive of the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.

Among the affected establishments were Westgate Arena Club, sealed for persistent noise pollution; Golden Click Hotel, shut for non-compliance with regulatory directives; and 14:02 Lounge and Bar, closed over noise pollution.

Others include the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Kilo Hotel, Max Lounge, Hotel Macs, Hotel Bel Am, Fecomillion Hotel, PetroSafe Gas Station, Serena Hotel and Suites, CitiLounge and Gariot.
The agency said the affected facilities were sanctioned for offences ranging from noise and air pollution to obstruction of duty and failure to comply with regulatory directives.

Speaking on the exercise, LASEPA General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and the environment through strict enforcement of environmental standards.

“Environmental compliance is a collective responsibility,” he said, urging residents and businesses to adhere to environmental regulations.

Ajayi added that the agency would continue to intensify enforcement actions to ensure a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment across the state.
