Lagos: LASEPA shuts businesses over noise pollution, environmental violations

By Abdullahi Lukman

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed several business establishments in Victoria Island, Lekki Phase 1, and Elegushi Beach for persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations.

Announcing the enforcement on its official X handle, LASEPA stated that affected businesses include Mania Lounge, Voda Beach Club, and Meadow Hall School, among others.

These establishments, according to the agency, were shut down for repeatedly violating environmental regulations despite previous warnings.

The agency emphasized that the operation is part of broader efforts to uphold environmental standards and protect public health across the state.

“This operation sends a clear message that Lagos State will not condone any activity that disrupts the peace of the community or endangers the well-being of its residents,” the statement read.

“Compliance with environmental laws is mandatory for all, and defaulters will face the full weight of the law.”

LASEPA also praised its enforcement team, led by Dr. Tunde Ajayi, for executing the operation with professionalism and diligence.
