Gov Obaseki establishes task force on environmental issues

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has announced establishment of a Task Force on Development Control and Environmental Issues in the state.
The development was disclosed by the governor’s aide on projects, Crusoe Osagie. He said establishment of the task force aims to bolster the state’s efforts in managing development while addressing pressing environmental concerns.
In a statement issued from the Government Hose, Benin, Osagie noted that the task force will be inaugurated at a later date to be announced, noting that the state is commitment to sustainable development and regulatory compliance.
The statement listed Mr.Matthew lkhide as the chairman of the task force, with Isaac Ero to serve as the Secretary. The team also includes Fidelis Owen, Bridget Omorotionwan, and Ese Ogbebor.
In addition, representatives from concerned state agencies were listed as members of the task force such as Henry Enabulele from the Ministry of Physical Planning, Housing, Urban, and Regional Development. Osamudiamwen Omoregie will represent the state’s Inland Revenue Service, while Bobby Obayuwana represents the media sector.
The establishment of this task force is seen as a proactive step to ensure that developmental activities in the state align with environmental best practices, reinforcing the government’s pledge to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
