The Federal Government has reviewed the implementation plan of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACRESAL) project, with a renewed focus on improving delivery and strengthening collaboration across key ministries.
The review was carried out on Tuesday during a strategic steering committee meeting attended by the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Joseph Terlumun Utsev; the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; and the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi.
At the session, the committee undertook a comprehensive assessment of the project’s work plan to ensure it aligns with implementation goals and delivers expected outcomes.
The plan was subsequently considered for approval to guide the next phase of the project.
Participants emphasized the need for stronger inter-ministerial coordination, noting that effective collaboration is essential to achieving the objectives of the ACRESAL initiative.
They also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to promoting sustainable environmental practices and agricultural development, aimed at enhancing food security and creating jobs across the country.
