The Federal Government has opened discussions with Chinese technology company Zhenjiang Risesun Science and Technology Co. Ltd on partnerships in power, mining, food security and modern security systems.
The Director-General of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO), Magaji Da’u Aliyu, disclosed this when a delegation from the company visited the complex’s headquarters in Abuja.
Aliyu said the proposed collaboration supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with a focus on using technology to improve electricity generation and distribution, strengthen mineral development and value addition, boost agricultural productivity and storage, and enhance security systems.
The partnership is also expected to promote the development and deployment of technologies that can address key challenges across the four priority sectors.
The Chinese delegation, led by the company’s General Manager for Overseas Business, Tina Yu, expressed readiness to support Nigeria’s power infrastructure, mining and security sectors.
Yu also said the company was willing to help strengthen the technical capacity of Nigerian scientists and engineers through knowledge and skills transfer.
Both sides agreed to work on a framework covering technology transfer, joint research, investment and knowledge exchange as they seek to advance Nigeria’s technological and industrial development.
