Fact Check: Does Plant Based Milk Impact Negatively on the Environment?

Claim: Plant based milk impacts negatively on the environment.
Three years, a YouTube channel @BrutAmerica made a video compilation alleging that plant based milk is negatively impacting our environment more than dairy milk.
This video has since gathered 895 views; 15 likes; 4 comments; 2 shares.
NatureNews, Africa’s foremost newspaper on climate change, which is dedicated to providing accurate insights to stop the spread of fake news particularly among users of social media, subjected the claim to fact checking.
Findings: Using the Google search tool in conducting this research, NatureFact, the fact checking unit of NatureNews, accessed a few papers and studies.
A thorough fact-checking investigation has revealed that this claim isn’t entirely true.
@AwardsandHonours-tlc stated that most of plant based milk’s impact are mostly on humans than on the environment.
@JayShettyPodcast argued that it may be more expensive that dairy but it doesn’t necessarily impact the environment negatively.
@CVCWellness stated that other than large lands been created to farm almond for almond milk. There’s basically little environmental impact.
@QueerBrownVegan advocates for plant based milk.
@PlantBasedNews stated that plant based milk was a savior from dairy.
@SustainabiltyMatters advocates for SoyMilk as the most eco-friendly.
Verdict: False. Plant based milk is actually more environmentally friendly than dairy.
