The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has trained additional 70 unemployed youths and women on goats farming and post sustainable agriculture training scheme in Adamawa.
Malam Abubakar Fikpo, the Director-General, NDE, represented by NDE Adamawa Coordinator, Malam Mohammed Ibrahim, said this at the training on Thursday in Yola.
He stated that 20 participants were trained in goats’ production, while 50 others were trained under the post sustainable agriculture scheme.
Fikpo said that the objective of the training was to expose the participants to deep knowledge of rearing goats for income generation and employment generation.
Fikpo urged the participants to be serious during the training to bolster their statuses in life.
“Please be committed and determined so as not to remain the same after the training.
“Be committed to the business so that you can become a role model and a resource person in the near future,” he advised.
Zainab Audu, Head of Department, Rural Employment Promotion, NDE Adamawa, said that hitherto, 50 youths were trained on goats’ production.
Audu added that 50 of the participants were selected for the one-week post training from the 100 beneficiaries, who were previously trained on sustainable agriculture scheme.
